Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

After the craziness that is the Formula One circus made its stop in Hungary last week, it's finally time for August, when most of Europe just decides that everyone would like to take a vacation, yes all at the same time how else would you do it, thank you. That just means more for us 'Mericans, I suppose. And it's a good thing too, with plenty of NASCAR and even an IndyCar race thrown in the mix.

On that oval-track front you've actually got two races in Long Pond Pee-Ay (that's PA, for Pennsylvania, but for some reason I always pronounce the letters in my head, just roll with it). Pocono Raceway is actually more of a triangle shape than oval, and that third corner can be like a dash of caliente pepper in your already too-strong margarita. It doesn't fundamentally change the mix, but the extra bit is definitely noticeable. Those two aforementioned races consist of the flagship Sprint Cup, of course, and the Camping World Truck Series, which is awesome because pickup truck racing.

If you insist on right turns because you are silly and who could possibly want that, there is the IndyCar road course race at Mid-Ohio (which is actually sort of in the middle of Ohio, I checked), and DTM is in Moscow. Speaking of Moscow, I hear there's a guy that may be looking for a fast car over there. If you see Edward Snowden in a roided-up Mercedes that happens to be on a track, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at tips at Jalopnik dot com. We like silly pictures.

We've heard your pleas and we'll be keeping the races and times in the body of posts, as well as on the map for now. Of course, please use our image annotation tool on the map above to show us races we might have missed, where they're being held, and where we can livestream them.

Get it while it's good.
