We Got Cops, Cops, Cops!

Has this ever happened to you? You're out with your friends for a fun night on the town — the town's streets, specifically, in quarter-mile increments — when some narc calls the cops and ruins everyone's good time? No? Well, that's probably because you're not the kind of person who operates 150-person sideshows in California. Good type of person not to be.

But we've seen what happens when cops, in their factory-tuned cars, try to interfere with street racer business — haven't we? The racers all peel out in their various extremely distinctive and highly modified vehicles, dodge their way through busy traffic, and escape into the night. At least, that's what the1969DodgeChargerFan was led to believe:

I do wonder, in that scene, how many people actually made it out. Sure, Dom's whole crew did, but Hector's? Ja Rule's? Even Dom only made it out thanks to a timely intervention from Brian, who was himself a cop —other officers could've been instructed to let the green Eclipse go. I cannot overstate how distinctive each of the cars in this scene are.

Vince specifically says "there were mass cops out there, that shit was orchestrated" — it sounds like the Family didn't exactly have an easy time getting back to Dom's place. Where, it's worth noting, they all just street parked out front. Excellent decision-making all around. I've been to Dom's house, it's not exactly covert.

Congratulations on your COTD win, the1969DodgeChargerFan, and here's hoping you're never stuck pulling off the same kind of escape. We've seen how that goes for second-generation Chargers, and it'd be a shame to turn another one into a crinkled Coke can.
