Back in 2012, Americans Chris Duplessis and Alex Kihurani made it to Finland to run the round of the World Rally Championship. To everyone in the U.S. rally community, it felt like a victory in and of itself. Watch this video and understand why.
Rally Finland (which is also running this week) is consistently the fastest, wildest, most-mid-air-iest rally in the world. See how long Chris and Alex have no wheels on the ground. See how long they, in their little front-wheel-drive Ford Fiesta are completely and utterly sideways. Particularly the corner where Chris goes down to first gear.
You’ll know it when you see it.
DISCUSSION
Man, I wish rally was more prevalent here in the US. I wanna start watching it but I have no idea where to find it on TV (if they even show it). My only hope might just be the WRC website and monthly subscription.
