What would you do if you came upon an impressive car collection being seized by US Marshalls and the DEA on your way to work? Luckily for us, when faced with that exact situation recently YouTube user Speedracer38 (UPDATE: Jalopnik pal Jason Thorgalsen) stopped and videotaped a parade of impressive cars being loaded onto transporters. According to the video description:
"About a month ago on my way to work I came across something which looked like it was from the movies. There was a warehouse full of exotic and muscle cars being seized by the DEA and US Marshalls. All the cars combined are worth upwards of 4 million dollars. Some of the exotics which were seized which weren't in the video included a Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren Roadster, Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR, Diablo Roadster, and a Rolls Royce Drophead which you can slightly see at one point."
Judging by the location, time line, and YouTube user comments we believe the seizure was linked to this DEA investigation. Although the connection cannot be confirmed, during the sweep of "rogue pain clinics" in South Florida the DEA "arrested 22 people and seized over $2.2 million in cash and 70 vehicles, including numerous exotic cars." The cars seen in this video are likely among those 70.
Whether the owner of these fantastic cars is proven guilty or innocent we can attest to a Dodge Viper paint job (5:00) that should be a punishable offense. Otherwise we have few qualms with this beautiful collection of cars, except of course how they were paid for. If these cars are held by the DEA, South Florida will likely be the home of one amazing government property auction some time in the next few years.
