Watch Syrian Rebels Blow Up A Military Helicopter In Mid-Air

As the Syrian Civil War rages on, rebels still appear to be mad as hell at the Bashar al-Assad-led Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party government. This attack on a Syrian military Mi-8/17 Hip gunship helicopter is just latest public example.

Someone managed to get hold of this video of rebels shooting at the chopper (with what sound like, and probably are, AK-47s) with automatic rifle fire before it exploded in mid-air. To be fair, it already had smoke coming out of it when the video started, and as The Aviationist blog points out, there's a good chance that a shoulder-fired surface-to-air missile might have been its real final coffin nail.
