Welcome to Sunday Matinee, a new feature I'm trying out where we highlight classic car reviews or other longer videos I find on YouTube. Kick back and enjoy this blast from the past.
Today we have a clip from 1991 where Jeremy Clarkson and his ridiculous Spike Spiegel-esque hair take the Ferrari 348 GTB for a spin. As Young Jezza tells us, you could spend a lot less money on a twin-turbo Nissan 300ZX, but while it's as fast as the Ferrari, "it's not a piece of motoring folklore."
As Clarkson points out, the 348 may more comfortable and usable than other Ferraris, but it still lacks the ability to haul things like Christmas trees. But don't worry — he finally puts it through its paces on some back roads set to period-appropriate Tina Turner music and Top Gear's quaint early 90s editing.
Quick, watch it and enjoy it before the BBC pulls it off, and they send a team of SAS operatives to my house for posting copyrighted material!
What do you think of old school Ferraris, and what would you like to see on Sunday Matinee?
