Wanted: Runners for Detroit Show

We may earn a commission from links on this page.

Hey Detroit kids! (or anyone who plans to be in the Motor City between January 8 and 10), Jalopnik is looking for runners to help us cover the Detroit show. Specifically, we need two hard-working souls who can people-surf like Kelly Slater to get in front of the action at press conferences, take photos, grab a press kits, then make it back to the press office before our cappuccinos get cold. Then, it's off to the next one with you. You'll be fully deputized, freelance members of the media, which means you'll have access to the show before anyone else. But it ain't no walk in the park, bunky. Click through for requirements and how to apply.

Candidates must have:

· Residence or accommodations in the Detroit area and transportation to the Cobo Center on Sunday, January 8; Monday, January 9; and Tuesday, January 10.
· Common sense.
· A broad knowledge of automakers and their products
· A willingness to do grunt-level work news-gathering work. (Don't worry, we're not primadonnas.)
· A digital camera (specify memory card type)
· Boundless enthusiasm and energy.

If you fit the above criteria and want to apply, send 150 words on why you'd be perfect for the job (other than because you fit the criteria above) to tips@jalopnik.com.
