We love Newport Beach. We just don't really like the people. And when Newport Beach throws a party for its centennial, the real thing ain't Death Cab for Cutie and Rachel Bilson, OC junkies: the sad reality is the Beach Boys, woodies, Saabs and Suburbans. Last weekend, in an effort to promote the "Let's Do Launch" (ugh) centennial celebration on October 2nd, a parade of 10 classics and woodies wound down the Coast Highway and through Fashion Island to raise awareness for the festivities. The vintage machines were bookended by a Saab convertible and a Chevy Suburban, both advertising the shindig. Which really just sums the whole thing up, doesn't it?
