This Mystery Acura Prototype Looks Awesome

To be completely honest, I have no idea what this Acura TLX-based prototype is, exactly. All I know is that it’s doing some testing on some of America’s best roads with an NSX and an AMG and it looks completely awesome.

The key to the good looks is simple: it has gigantic fender flares at the back, as you can see from these photos sent in from Jalopnik reader Ben, who spotted the car in Malibu.

Why does the Acura have these fender flares? Is it a secret rear-wheel drive sports sedan? Probably not. Is it the development mule for a larger sedan built into a current car’s smaller body? Could be.

But that’s not terribly important. What’s important is that all Acuras should have gigantic and beefy ‘70s style overfenders stock. They just look better that way.
