This Is The First Missile Launch From An F-22 Going Faster Than The Speed Of Sound

You know about the F-22 Raptor, the newish cutting-edge fighter being continually developed, right? Perhaps to celebrate that they've figured out how to keep the planes from suffocating pilots, today was the first time a missile has been launched at supersonic speeds.

That's an AIM-9X Sidewinder missile, and since the whole plane's going faster than sound, that missile's going faster than fast. This is a big step for the development of the aircraft, and is just pretty fun to watch in an animated GIF.

Here's hoping it only needs to get used at airshows, blowing up stuff for fun.
