What Red Bull Racing has been toying around since March is finally here in the flesh, with Daniel Ricciardo testing the new windshield safety device this Friday at the Russian Grand Prix.

While visibility shouldn’t be a significant issue, the windshield’s aerodynamic effect on the car and its driver remains a question, despite Red Bull’s computers running 24/7 trying to simulate the wind for sure.

Red Bull’s solution remains very different to Ferrari’s proposition, the “Halo Concept.” While reigning champion Lewis Hamilton hated the Italian design, he had no word on the British yet.
