And by 'gnarly,' I mean 'completely off the rails high power oversteer everywhere good lord how did he not crash amazing.'
This is from Top Gear's 1991 season, with Tiff Needel at the wheel of a Jaguar XJR-15. Tiff shared his TV duties with a reasonably successful sports car racing career, having finished third at the 24 Hours of Le Mans the year before and working up to a factory-backed drive with Lister.
I mention this only because it gives you a sense of why he could keep the car from shooting off the road at very high speed in this carbon fiber, midengined V12 monster of a car
The Jaguar XJR-15 is sometimes called one of the worst-handling cars of its era, but that's not quite right. As Tiff explains in the video, it's just extremely low on downforce, and with just rear-wheel drive, it is serious, serious work keeping it in one piece. Going sideways is unavoidable.
Listen to the guy scream as he runs the car out to the steering lock, at full power in high gear on a damp Silverstone.
"AND IF I'M GETTING TIRED AT SILVERSTONE, I'M GOING TO BE [XXXX] IN MONACO"
