This Custom Drifting Ford F-150 Is 'The Ultimate Fun-Haver'

When pro drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. introduced his custom EcoBoost Ford F-150, he said it would be a daily driver. That could drift. And go off-road. And off jumps. It was intriguing as a concept, it’s freaking amazing to see in action.

Driving Line, the private media outlet of Gittin’s sponsor Nitto Tire, calls this twin turbo truck “the ultimate fun-haver.” If that sounds a little simplistic, please re-read the outline of the build.

An (apparently robust) air suspension setup by King Shocks dramatically adjusts the truck’s ride height. The standard parking brake has been swapped for a true “hand-brake” to maximize driftability. The frame is stock, safe for what reenforcement might be provided by the internal roll cage.

The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine is also factory-stock with 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. Okay, maybe a few extra thanks to the Magnaflow exhaust.

That power gets put to the wheels with the truck’s stock six-speed automatic, a heavy duty rear axle from Currie Enterprises and some Nitto Terra Grappler tires. The interior’s been upgraded with a roll cage and racing seat belts but there’s still passenger space for five.

It looks like an absolute riot, and I really dig what I think is Monster’s first attempt at a “subtle” livery.

See that, Raptor haters? You can take them off jumps without snapping a frame. You just need to know what you’re doing. And have a beastly set of suspension under your truck.
