Every now and then, I find stuff on Craigslist that really throws me for a loop. Take this ad for a 1998 BMW 528i. Looks like a decent used car deal with the kinds of goodies we like on our BMWs — sport package, BBS wheels, manual transmission, sun roof, nice audio system and "no check engine light" on the dash. That's always a good thing when you're dealing with an older Bimmer.
The issue here isn't with the car. It's with what's parked next to it — the Tumbler Batmobile from the Dark Knight Trilogy. Unfortunately, the ad gives absolutely no information about why it's there, leaving us with more questions than answers. Whose Tumbler is that? Is it a replica or a prop car from the movies? Why is it in some random apartment parking lot, perhaps in Nashville, where the BMW is being sold?
"I might just keep it once I get it in perfect shape, but right now I'm looking to trade mainly for a V8 car that can be driven daily," the seller says in the ad. The Tumbler cars use 5.7-liter Chevy V8 engines. Is that what he wants to trade for? A Tumbler? I can get behind that.
Also, on a side note, that's kind of an asshat parking job on Batman's behalf. But since he uses it to crush cop cars in the movies, I guess we can't expect him to be too considerate.
