This 4x4 M35 Military Truck Is An Econobox Smashing Beast

If you're on the market for the ultimate small car-crushing offroad rig, look no further than this rebuilt 1971 AM General M35A2 Custom Crew Cab. C & C Equipment, a custom truck shop in Indiana, completely refurbished the thing with awesome '70s-vintage camo paint and modern, more comfortable seats.

To put it simply, this thing is bad ass.

This one began life as a 6x6 deuce-and-a-half, and has been converted to its current 4x4 status. But its loss of an axle meant the addition of an extra row of seats and two new doors. It's got new everything, including a LDT-465 turbo diesel crate motor, massive axles, and heavy duty driveshafts.

But the capability to run over a Honda Civic as if it were a mere shopping center lot speed bump will set you back a few bills — $59,000 to be exact. Bidding already ended, and we're not surprised that no one stepped forward to claim this beastly 4x4 prize. Gas prices and smaller parking spaces, it seems, have usurped the old General's burly cool factor.

But just because you can't afford to shell out nearly 60 Gs for so awesomely brutish a conveyance (because come on, plush modern pickup trucks are for sissies) doesn't mean you can't ogle this one. Thank goodness for eBay! It allows us to drool over things we can't, or shouldn't, buy.

Then again, if you run some kind of construction business, this could be a rad way to carry heavy loads of just about anything just about anywhere. It worked well for the military.
