These Are The Best Cars In Music Videos

Readers covered everything from ZZ Top and Jamiroquai to Kylie Minogue and T-Pain

Earlier this week I asked you to name what you think are the best cars in music videos, and I'm happy to report that I've got a diverse list of answers to share. Vehicles can be used as everything from set decoration to integral plot devices in a music video, and your examples ran the gamut. The cars themselves are diverse too, ranging from muscle cars and lowriders to drift cars and exotics.

Without further ado, these are cars from music videos you think are the best. Let us know in the comments which video you enjoyed the most, and if we missed out on your personal favorite feel free to share.

A Touch Of Class - Around the World (La La La La La)

A relative unknown in the US, but the Melkus RS 1000 in the video for ATC's Around The World

Suggested by: 89islander

I was hoping this video would come up! It always makes it into my list of most played songs every year, and it's one of my favorite music videos ever. I'm always saying how it would make for an iconic four-person Halloween costume. As for the car, only 101 of them were built in Dresden, East Germany, between 1969 and 1979, featuring a three-stroke two-cylinder Wartburg engine.

Kylie Minogue - Can’t Get You Out Of My Head

How often do you see a De Tomaso Mangusta?

Suggested by: Knyte

Another absolutely iconic song and video that I was hoping would get mentioned. It just doesn't get better than this.

Gorillaz - Stylo

The 1969 Camaro and 1968 El Camino from Stylo by Gorillaz starring Bruce Willis

Suggested by: Michael Eaquinta

I love this video, and it's one of my favorite Gorillaz songs.

Jamiroquai - Cosmic Girl

Jamiroquai – Cosmic Girl – Ferrari F40. Fun fact, the Diablo had no windshield, that's why Jay Kay's hair is flowing :)

Suggested by: towman

This slideshow wouldn't be possible without a Jamiroquai video. God, the Diablo SE30 is just so freakin' cool.

Sir Mix-A-Lot - My Hooptie

Any love for a six-nine Buick Electra 225? Because the best car is the car you got; It'll get you all the females.

Suggested by: Gin and Panic

This video is a classic. Honorable mention to that sick custom S-Class cabriolet at the beginning!

Sammy Hagar - I Can’t Drive 55

How about a black Ferrari 512 BBi tuned by Claudio Zampolli?

Suggested by: Gin and Panic

Another classic. I think I should recreate Sammy's hair and outfit for Monterey Car Week next year.

Chicago - Stay The Night

The Olds 442 in Stay the Night by Chicago

Suggested by: George Wilson

More incredible hair inspo in this one.

Jay-Z and Kanye West (feat. Otis Redding) - Otis

The Hacked up Maybach in Otis

Suggested by: Derel1cte

The chopped-up Maybach sold for just $60,000 at a New York Contemporary Art Evening charity auction in 2012. I wonder where it is now.

La Roux - In For The Kill

The entire video is about the MR2 in all of its 80's neon glory.

Suggested by: Zach Reed

A great example of a car perfectly matching the vibe of a song.

Red Fang - Wires

Red Fang's "Wires". Squarebody Impala wagon destroying shit for no reason whatsoever.

Suggested by: dustynnguyendood

Yeah, this rules.

Jungle - Happy Man

The Ford Escort Convertible featured in Jungle's "Happy Man" and the end of "Heavy California." Love the faux Audi livery!

Suggested by: SubaRhodesy

You're right, the livery does look pretty good. Hell, the whole car does.

Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers - You Got Lucky

Not a car but I always liked the racing sidecar motorcycle in Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers "You Got Lucky"

Suggested by: FusiliJerry

This definitely counts.

Whitesnake - Here I Go Again

OK, I'll do the easy one:

Suggested by: AlvarHanso

Is this what Jaguar ownership does to you?

Ludacris - Act A Fool

At 37 (currently) the first Fast and Furious movie hit me at just the right (wrong?) time and left an indelible mark on me. It turned me from a car fan who's primary exposure to cool cars was either Goodguy's Car shows with my dad or Monterey Car Week shenanigans with my grandfather to an absolute car fiend who fell deep in love with tuner culture.

With that said, my choice would have to be the Supra from Ludacris' Act A Fool...still a car I'd love to own.

Suggested by: SantaCruzin6

I still have a scale model of Luda's 2F2F Supra that I bought when the movie was new. This video is so good, I'm glad they didn't cheap out and just make it with re-used footage from the film.

T-Pain & Hert - Baby Got Brap

T-Pain – Baby got Brap

All the RX-7's

Suggested by: Ondaki

I love T-Pain so much, all of the car stuff he's been doing over the past few years has been awesome to see.

nothing,nowhere. - nightmare

How about something completely different? The Iron Man Stewart tribute Lexus LS400 in Nothing, Nowhere's video for Nightmare:

Suggested by: DansDrives

If you don't follow the owner of this LS400, Natasha Adams, you absolutely must. I've been watching her build since its beginning, and she's got a bunch of other cool off-road stuff too.

Larry June - Recaro Seats

Gotta go Larry June and his ASC McClaren in "Recaro Seats". Plus, Larry is cool.

Suggested by: Big Block i-4

Larry is a certified car nut, as evidenced by this somewhat obscure but oh-so-rad choice.

Kazzer - Pedal To The Metal

In a video that's full of Chevelles, Camaros, GTOs and other American muscle and pony cars, the '62 Thunderbird at the end of Kazzer's Pedal to the Metal is a seriously badass looking car.

The song... is of its time.

Suggested by: JohnnyWasASchoolBoy

That's my favorite generation of Thunderbird.

Peter Peter Hughes - My God Is An Angry God (Juan Manuel Fangio Castiga Los Pecados Del Mundo)

How many other music videos were directed by one of Jalopnik's own (Davey G Johnson, in this case)? For that matter, how many music videos have a fictionalized Juan Manuel Fangio as an OG Saab 900-driving assassin?

Suggested by: Maymar

I miss Davey.

ZZ Top - Gimme All Your Lovin’

Let's get all the Millennials and Get Zers out of the room for a bit so we Get-Xers can relive some ZZ Top awesomeness.

Suggested by: ReluctantFloridaMan

What, you thought I wasn't gonna include some ZZ Top?

More Lady Gaga

These were not submitted by readers, but I thought that it was my duty as a Little Monster to share a few more Lady Gaga videos that have good cars in them.
