There's Nothing Like The Gumball 3000

The insanity of racing exotic, highly tuned cars across Europe is well documented and this year's Gumball 3000 rally is no exception. Some celebs are involved including Tony Hawk and a team of four in a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. We have first hand reports coming in from Team Polizei with Alex Roy and Michael Ross behind the wheel of a "highly modified" Bentley Continental GT. Here are the first two updates, and keep checking our Gumball 3000 page for further updates throughout the rally:

April 30. London Time: 4:02 p.m.
Team Polizei, this year in a highly modified Bentley Continental GT with much of the same equipment as the Polizei M5, has taken up position #5 at the start of the 2006 Gumball3000. Alex Roy and Michael Ross, the two Team Polizei drivers for this year's event, are sitting on the Formula 1 style grid behind such celebrities as Bam Margera and Tony Hawk who are in a purple Lamborghini Gallardo. The rally is set to begin at 4:30p.m. local time.

April 30, 8:02 p.m.
Team Polizei is still currently in first place heading towards the Chateau Beloeil Checkpoint. Team Polizei had one close call with the police in northern France which resulted in the police officer just waving them on.

April 30, 9:11 p.m.
