'The Suzuki Kizashi Is An In-Betweener'

Let's hop in the DeLorean and travel back to late 2009, back when Suzuki was battered and on the ropes but still alive in the U.S. However, they had one last ace up their sleeves: the 2010 Suzuki Kizashi.

John Davis and the MotorWeek crew take the Kizashi for a spin here and found it to be an "in-betweener": namely a car that's sharper than the average family hauler, but not quite a true sport sedan. At 80 percent it's grippy and responsive, but any higher than that, it's not as much fun as they had hoped.

But really, who's going to track a Kizashi? In everyday, normal driving, the Team MotorWeek found it to be a comfortable and competent cruiser. And they praise things like its "well-creased flowing front fascia below well-drawn headlights." Couldn't have said it better myself.

Unfortunately, the Kizashi wasn't great enough to spark a Suzuki turnaround, but it wasn't for lack of trying.

MotorWeek Theater is our showcase of some of our favorite classic reviews from public television's finest motoring program. How does this video only have 159,229 views on YouTube? If only that many people bought Kizashis, Suzuki would still be around!
