The McLaren 675LT Can Still Pull Off The Famous Gulf Livery

The McLaren 720S may have surpassed the McLaren 675LT for power, but the Long Tail car remained the more hardcore driving machine. That helps it pull off this new Gulf livery treatment. Yeah, orange-on-blue still looks good.

I won’t hide my irrevocable love for the 720S, just like I also won’t disguise the fact that I think Gulf livery tributes has been done one too many times. But this particular Gulf’d out 675LT is something special. It pays homage to the 1997 McLaren F1 GTR Longtail of Le Mans fame and which actually has a long tail.

McLaren says that the bespoke paint job took about 800 hours to complete. Yeah, it’s not a sticker job. The car also has 20-spoke wheels, finished in a Dayglo orange hue. And a black, orange and blue interior. Fitting, since the 675LT was, in part, inspired by the F1 GTR Longtail.

I definitely don’t hate it, but I also think the livery looks better on the race car. What do you think, have Gulf colors been done to death or do we need to advertise an oil company even more?
