One of the best pieces of news to come out of the LA Auto Show was that the diesel powered 2014 Mazda6 would be making it's way to American shores.

We also found out that the diesel would be hitting the race track for the 24 Hours of Daytona. It was an excellent 48 hours for fans of oil burners.

The race car has just hit the track in Florida and it looks friggin great.

To refresh your memory, the diesel 6 will be running in GrandAm's GX class for alternative fuel vehicles. The 2.2 liter diesel has been massaged by Speed Source Race Engineering to put out about 400 horsepower.

The car is currently testing without a painted livery and I'm really digging it. Maybe we can help convince them to not paint it before the Daytona 24 rolls around. I'm sure the sponsors won't mind.
