The old adage that goes “Better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow,” is especially true for the little Mazda2. Because light feet and low power makes for a really, really good time. Here’s how much more fun it can be with some tweaks.

A modded Mazda2 is the star of Matt Farah’s latest one-take video at the Angeles Forest. The Mazda2 in this video was only light tuned, with aftermarket parts that included new sway bars, lightweight wheels, an intake and exhaust. And at under 2,500 pounds, it’s a lightweight option for sure. You won’t even care its tiny naturally aspirated engine puts out 115 horsepower.

When was the last time you dared to go flat-out on a twisty canyon road? The Mazda2 will turn you into a canyon carving god.

Imagine if you could add a ton of power to this thing. Maybe this is the best tuner platform no one knows about yet.

I test drove one of these when they first came out. Dangerously slow is the best way to describe it. I did have a 250 lbs salesman with me but I couldn’t even get it up to highway speeds going WOT on the on ramp.
