If you needed a sedan that has 550 horsepower AND reeks of British loveliness, your pickins have been slim as of late. But have no fear, Jag is here to make your qualms go away.

The $116,000 (or $119,000, depending on wheelbase) XJR is the most powerful large sedan to come out of Coventry. Jag's venerable 550 horsepower V8 that also sees duty in the XFR-S and XKR-S... and the XKR-S GT is under the hood.

It's resplendent in light weight aluminum and the interior is the typical Jag luxury.

But then there's a few things I don't like. The tail pipes seem to stick out of the rear like they were just randomly placed there during a Magnaflow commercial. But more than that, I'm just never sure who actually buys these cars.

I've driven a few large sedans, and I always find the best experience in a comfortable, diesel one. The Mercedes S350 comes to mind. You want a big sedan to be incredibly comfortable, you don't want to be bouncing around on a super stiff suspension.

It all ends up being a big compromise that I just don't understand. I'm sure someone with much more money than me gets it.
