One of the great injustices of our time is the fact that Canada’s favorite IndyCar-driving son James Hinchcliffe is on this season of Dancing With The Stars, and Canadians can’t vote. Never fear, Land of Delicious Timbits! IndyCar briefly retweeted a less-than-kosher workaround for how you can vote anyway.
You can only vote for your favorite Dancing With The Stars contestants if you reside in the United States, but what’s the fun in that? The Internet is global. The Internet is everywhere. And goodness knows, we know exactly how much Canadians hate to be left out of online contests and votes.
For a brief period this afternoon, IndyCar’s Twitter presence told everyone outside the US how they can join in the DWTS fun:
For better or for worse, someone over IndyCar’s Twitter account caught this brief #FuckDaPolice-tagged oopsie and un-retweeted these instructions on how to use a VPN service to vote in a US-only web vote.
However, one does not just remove items from the Internet. Screencaps and archives are forever, and this tweet’s already out for a rip.
Vote early. Vote often. Re-elect the Mayor of Hinchtown—on the dance floor.
