Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?
Formula One invades Austria this week after what was hopefully a temper-settling break from the Lewis Hamilton-Sebastian Vettel drama in Azerbaijan, and you’ll have to be up early. Will we get to see another really weird, alternate universe podium this weekend? (Not likely.)
There’s also IndyCar in Iowa, where the plains will be singing the sounds of corn munching and race cars, and NASCAR will be circling Kentucky and I’m already excited for all of the on-air accents saying “Kentucky.” Saturday afternoon is packed with supercars prixing grandly if you need something exciting running while napping on the couch.
For those who enjoy less wheels, FIM superbikes and MotoAmerica superbikes are sharing Mazda Raceway, with four races split across the weekend, and motocross will be on TV a little delayed Saturday afternoon if you miss the stream.
I’m just impatiently awaiting the re-aired drag boat racing.
