The first impression I had of the Bentley Home Collection is that there isn't as much quilted stitching as expected. Compare the inside of a Continental or Mulsanne to these couches and chairs, and I'm starting to miss the diamond pattern.
Bentley, suppliers of branded apparel that also happen to make cars for the VW Group, announced the Bentley Home collection today. It was designed with Europe's Luxury Living Group and is being shown at the Maison & Objet fair in Paris.
Largest of the collection must be the Richmond Bed, which fortunately has some of the quilt theme behind the headboard and pillows, making it a true Bentley. There's also the winged Bentley logo up top, which may or may not affect your sleep.
Admittedly, the pillows on the Minster sofa are kind of cool with the old Bentley drawing on them. The color really reminds me of a couch my grandmother used to have and that's not really a compliment here.
If you're looking for chairs, Bentley's got them. Though the Harlow armchair's leather straps and buckles make it look like you can fold it up and take it with you. That would actually be convenient.
And there's a sideboard. It just looks like a big piece of wood. A nice piece of wood, though.
There's no pricing yet, but if you can afford it you shouldn't have to ask. And if there isn't enough quilted leather in this collection, just buy a Bentley car.
