The 1997 Plymouth Prowler Is A Purple Reign

For everything that is right about the Plymouth Prowler, there are about 13 more things that are wrong. Just don't tell that to MotorWeek.

John Davis and crew got to spend some time with the Prowler in the late 1990s, and they loved every bit of it. The styling, the wheels, the four speed automatic, the 214 horsepower engine, the flexible cycle fenders. Everything.

I will say that my thought is that the Prowler looks awesome, but the interior and pretty much everything in the powertrain leaves a lot to be desired. So good in concept, so poor in execution.

Or excellent. Whichever.

Has anybody ever yanked the the wheezy V6 for a decent V8 in one of these? Or is there just not enough room? I always wanted to do that and give it a engine that actually makes sense for something that looks that wild.
