The 1990 Ford Probe LX V6 took the 3.0 liter engine straight out of the Taurus and Sable, themselves shining beacons of performance driving.

Result? Look out! The Probe gets to 60 in an incredible 8.6 seconds and runs a blistering quarter mile of 16.5 seconds at a heart racing 85 MPH. This speed is worth the cost in the fuel economy department, says MotorWeek.
