Aston Martins are machines of power, beauty and soul, or at least that's what the little screen in the gauge cluster says. They've been the go-to spy vehicle for Hollywood's favorite MI6 agent, James Bond. But what about those times when Bond didn't choose one of Britain's best?

The AMC Hornet is remembered for the insane jump that James Bond performed while at the helm. It was the first astro-spiral jump ever used in a movie and it set the stage for future Bond vehicular insanity for years to follow. The Dukes of Hazzard ain't got nothing on this.

As Bond famously piloted this V12-powered beast of a sedan from the backseat, he was able to deploy rockets, tire spikes and tear-gas to keep the bad guys away.

Speaking of piloting from the backseat, how cool would it be to be your own chauffeur?Remotely driving the car directly from your cellphone, no one would even have a clue!

How else could Bond destroy half of St. Petersburg in GoldenEye and derail a train without a tank? Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think his Aston Martin DB5 or BMW Z3 could've held up for that, no matter what Q prepped them for.

Who said Landies were only for farm work or mall parking? This Defender 110 double cab took more than its fair share of a beating when protecting Bond and fellow agent Eve while chasing baddies through the streets of Istanbul in Skyfall.

After stealing the GTV6 from what appeared to be an ordinary German "Oma", Bond leads the Polizei on a dramatic chase down an autobahn and manhandles the GTV6 though dangerous intersections and all the way onto an American Air Force Base.

Hollywood just makes those slides look too easy. Don't try this at home!

If only they didn't have to chop the roof off to fit Sean Connery's oversized body. Damn you, genetics!

As the backup car to Bond's self-destructed Lotus Esprit, the 2CV held up rather well. That is, until his lady-friend Melina Havelock rolled it and they were forced to use the help of locals to push the car back rightside-up. Then of course, Bond took the wheel, but was quickly pushed off the road and once again forced to roll down an embankment in an effort to escape their enemies. And even after all of this, Bond and Havelock still managed to get away without even a scratch.

Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the 2CV.

After a brief amount of screen time, Bond's Z8 met its demise by being slashed in half by some sort of evil helicopter-saw-thing. But before its destruction, the car was able to show off its surface to air missiles, key fob remote-drive system and of course its no-nonsense beauty and ageless styling. Three things then have become nearly essential for James Bond when he's out in the field.

The Bentley 3 1/2 was one of the first cars to be done-up by MI6's gadget guy Q. This car is also favored by many Bond fans because it's throwback to the Ian Fleming books in which the spy owned a Bentley 4 1/2 liter. In the novels, Bond's Bentley was almost solely for personal use as well as an ongoing weekend project.

Now I know what you're thinking, the Esprit Turbo featured in For Your Eyes Only had ski racks, and that should automatically make it very cool. Maybe.

But this Lotus, featured in The Spy Who Loved Me, happens to be a Lotus that is also a submarine. With torpedoes. And that makes it much, much cooler.
