Apparently, all an automaker has to do to get headline inches is announce they may, someday, build a hybrid-drive version of one of their models. This time, it's Suzuki. Company executives said recently the company is mulling a decision to launch a gas-electric version of its newest Grand Vitara SUV, a company executive said last week. Sources say the company is developing its own powertrain without help from partner GM, and won't incorporate existing hybrids built by GM-Daewoo in Korea, many of which are based on cars it already re-badges, like the Forenza. Not that they don't trust them or anything.
