Well this is a new one.

Do you see that ACT logo? Yeah, that’s a company that transports hazardous waste.

Cool.

Again, this is in Southern California (where else?) going east on I-10 from just east of LA headed towards Palm Springs. The chase has been slowly progressing for a good two hours by the time of publishing. Things don’t look great for semi dude. As local 7 News reports, the chase started when the truck driver failed to yield and then failed to stop for the cops.

Updates as we get them.

UPDATE 3:52 p.m. ET: The truck slowed down for an intersection, seemingly making sure nobody was about to bust through the light. That’s in Yucca Valley, if you want to join the people who are now standing roadside to watch this chase that, man, they really should not be standing around to watch.

UPDATE 5:25 p.m. ET: NBC Los Angeles reports the hours-long pursuit has ended in an arrest. Finally.

Around 1:20 p.m. PT, the driver simply parked the truck and surrendered. He was then taken into custody. The TV station reports the truck was taken sometime before 6 a.m. PT, and was not found to be carrying hazardous materials after all.
