Lotus looks to be aiming to own the broadening market for up-market, mid-premium speedy coupes, a tortured designation it will likely share with Porsche's new Boxter coupe.
The new Lotus is said to be based on the company's Versatile Vehicle Architecture, named as such because it can undergird both front and mid-engine vehicles, which also forms the platform for Lotus's Esprit. AutoWeek says the coupe could go for $30,000, a price point we're not ready to endorse, but one at which would seriously consider breaching our piggy bank with a few, well-placed M-80s.
[Update, a clever tipster found a link to the car's specs at the UK Patent Office. Awesome.]
