Saab PhoeniX is a scissor-door bird of prey

The Saab PhoeniX concept car showcases design features and technologies that'll shape the next generation of cars from Saab.

The PhoeniX is based on the "Phoenix platform," the next-generation modular platform built from GM's Epsilon I platform, that will carry the 2013 Saab 9-3 — and every larger new car built by Saab — into the future. The PhoeniX also introduces Jason Castriota's new Saab design language. He calls it "aeromotional" — we have no idea what that means, but it's sexy as hell. Not Alfa Romeo 4C sexy, but sexy. Let's call it four beers sexy.

Inside the scissor doors is a 2+2 cabin and a world debut for Saab's new IQon infotainment and communications system. It's based on the Google Android operating system.

Saab has stated already they don't plan to build this concept. Which is a shame.

More to come. For now, check out the hot, sexy Swedish action of the exterior.
