Famed critic Roger Ebert waxed rhapsodic this weekend about his new Ford Fusion Hybrid. His exuberance makes us willing to forgive the parking job, and worry about him finding out it's hecho en Mexico. [Roger Ebert's Journal]
Ebert wrote, "They say once you get to cruising speed, you can go 47 miles on the battery until you start using any gas."
Can this possibly be true? Even at a fixed speed, that's a hell of a lot of drag & rolling resistance to overcome with just the stored energy of hybrid's batteries.
