“When I see a Range Rover on the street, my blood boils, because we should be able to do a thing like that,” Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne reportedly just told Bloomberg. “And we will.” Them’s fightin’ words!

Right now there are no details on this alleged ultra-lux Jeep, and the company’s official response is just “can’t comment on future product.”

Marchionne’s riding a tsunami of success with the Jeep brand right now... he’s earned the right to run his mouth a little bit. But if this is true it’s an interesting way to introduce something as ambitious as a six-figure Range Rover rival. And yeah, the price could totally get close to $100,000 considering that you can already spec a Grand Cherokee SRT to around $75,000.

There was no mention of another vehicle above the 2018 Grand Wagoneer in the comprehensive Fiat Chrysler “Five Year Plan” presentation we saw about a year ago. But Marchionne told Bloomberg that’s because he was keeping it secret. “Would I tell you that? No, but we’re working on it now.”

Think he’s for real or just drunk on record-setting sales figures?
