Tomorrow a 31 truck auction made up of rare and usual Land Rovers will be held outside Birmingham, England. While most of the trucks are unique and interesting in their own way, the star of the show is undoubtedly this very rare and very cool Cuthbertson tracked Series II Land Rover.

Only 15 Series I, II, and III Land Rovers are believed to have been converted into go anywhere tracked vehicles by the Scottish firm Cuthbertson. This example is a Series II Long Wheel Base truck with only 4,000 miles on it. It is one of the nicest, if not the nicest Cuthbertson conversion known to the vintage Land Rover world.

Like the other 31 vehicles, this Series II Cuthbertson comes from a large Land Rover collection that was seized and liquidated under mysterious circumstances in Norway last year. The best examples of the 93 Rovers were purchased as a lot and moved to England by the company holding the auction, while the less desirable examples were sold off locally. What remains is a very interesting cross section of Rovers that includes everything from Forward Control oddities to one of a kind custom commercial applications.

We share the popular belief that this tracked Rover is probably the coolest vehicle that will cross the block tomorrow. Who knows what you would do with it, where you would get parts, or how you would even get it home, but given the opportunity to put this Series II Cuthbertson in our garage we would happily come up with an answer to all of these questions.
