Race Cars Make Terrible Lawnmowers: Tony Stewart Edition

Tony Stewart is the latest NASCAR Sprint Cup driver to mow the lawn. Stewart spun into the grass on lap 51 at Texas Motor Speedway, heavily damaging his car and taking him out of the race.

Stewart retired shortly after the spin.

Here is your latest reminder: race cars are horrible as lawnmowers. Inconsistent cut. Heavy damage to the vehicle. Terrible, I tell you. Terrible. I suggest using a John Deere instead of a Stewart-Haas next time, and please—no tractors out under the green flag.

[Edit: For some reason, I’d heard that there was a wall hit involved and assumed it had to be something off-camera, but a closer replay shows that Stewart just spun out on his own. Thanks Maggie92!]
