I know it’s a bold claim to make in today’s era of hyper-collectible, ultra-rare 911 variants, but I would have been totally fine if Porsche had made more than only 20 of these Group B 911 SC/RSes. They look and sound awesome and I need more. Just watch this rare Porsche slide around and you’ll understand.
This ultra-rare rally Porsche was based on the road-going 911 SC when it was built in 1984, only it had a lightened body with widened fenders and beefier suspension for taking sweet jumps, per Road & Track. They came with a 3.0-liter flat-six engine that produced 255 horsepower, which sounded wonderful.
Here’s driver Enrico Melli in one of only twenty of these cars ever built ripping it up at the 2016 Monza Historic Rally Show. They may have been built for Group 4 and Group B rallying, but thank goodness, at least this one is still in use today.
I still think the world would be a better place if there were a few more of these, though. More! More.
