Porsche Reveals New 911 Turbo

We poked our heads out from under the 26" of snow that fell on us yesterday (just shut up, Buffalo, you know us downstaters aren't used to this crap) and what did we see? Porsche released shots of its newest 997 model, the 911 Turbo — in European spec. Horsepower snobs have already noted its sub-500 status (the official number is 480 hp, plus 457 lbs-ft. of torque), but the kompressor-clad 911's sub-four-second zero-to-60 times (3.9 seconds w/6-speed manual, 3.7 with Tiptronic) should cool the smugness. Top speed is up a couple clicks over the previous model to 193 mph. Europeans will pay the equivalent of around $158,500 for the privilege, though no word on the US price yet. We'll see it, and its GT3 sibling, under Geneva's kleig lights later this month.
