Hey everybody, how are you doing out there? You holding up okay? You feeling stressed or frustrated with your everyday life? Me too sometimes, but I need to make something very clear: no matter how pissed off you get, don't go out onto the highway and fire your guns at random cars. It's not cool.
That's exactly what this man, 43-year-old Raulie Wayne Casteel of Wixom, Mich. is accused of doing. According to this report from ABC News, police officials believe Casteel fired his pistols at some two dozen cars along Interstate 96 last month. Police say his spree, uh, spread across four counties near the Detroit metro area.
Casteel was arrested this week and charged with multiple crimes, including assault with a dangerous weapon and discharging from a vehicle. (Down here in Texas, the latter is considered a hobby you can do with friends and family, not a felony.)
Investigators are still trying to work out the motive behind Casteel's purported crimes. It's curious because ABC News says he's a geologist, a father and has no criminal record.
But his alleged actions terrorized a huge group of people in the Detroit area. Perhaps miraculously, no one was killed, although one victim is recovering from a gunshot wound to the hip. The incidents kept drivers fearful of going on I-96 at all, according to the story:
"We had so many people who were so afraid to travel down 96, parents pulling their kids out of school. So, for us it was a very big challenge to go out here and find this guy," Lt. Mike Shaw of the Michigan State Police said.
