Phoenix Police Considering Tahoes

This is mainly interesting to us because Arizona was the state where the flaming Crown Vic problem first was really brought to light. The Phoenix PD is testing out Chevy Tahoes for use as patrol vehicles, as according to the PPD, they're one of the few vehicles rated for police duty, and the price of outfitting Crown Vics with protective fuel bladders (which in Arizona is a powerful psychological panacea to officers) has made the Fords rather pricey. We know that the Dodge Magnums and Chargers are relatively new, but they're also faster, more fuel-efficient and handle better than crumpy ol' Tahoes. If we were Phoenix cop, we'd feel gypped.
