While more than a quarter of Swaziland's 970,000 citizens depend on food aid to live, the country's absolute monarch, King Mswati II (a man so nice they named him twice), embarassed by reports of his free-spending ways, has banned all photographs of his growing fleet of luxury cars. Although Swaziland is one of Africa s poorest countries, the king, who plans to build palaces for a number of his 12 wives and fork over $45 million for a private jet, had come under fire (the words kind, not the AK-47s over the palace wall kind) for traveling in a $400,000 Maybach 62. The royal decree published in The Times of Swaziland declared it illegal to take pictures of his majesty "when he alights from his car."
