Unlike Christian von Koenigsegg, Horacio Pagani didn’t have everything new displayed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Yet there’s another Zonda headed to Japan with a 7.3 liter AMG V12 producing 760 horsepower and all the right noises. It’s called the ZoZo.
Pagani would build you a Huayra with a manual transmission if they weren’t sold out already. Officially, the Zonda has been dead as well for years, but as you all know, for $2+ million, you can still get one no problem.
According to Prototype0, the latest in that line is a purple 760-spec car with the rear lamp nicked from the Zonda R. This was ordered by Yusaku Maezawa, founder of Japan’s largest online fashion mall Zozotown, hence the ZoZo name. Otherwise, the Zonda ZoZo looks awfully similar to Lewis Hamilton’s 760LH.
That’s all very well, but what’s Pagani’s next move? Sure, building these “special edition” Zondas will keep them in business, and they will be busy enough delivering those last Huayras in the next few month, but what then?
Pagani went from a naturally-aspirated AMG V12 to a twin-turbo AMG V12. Will we see a TT V8 in the next round in the name of inevitable downsizing, or will he go the Lamborghini way?
