Hey New York City Jalops, if you've got some traveling to do and you don't have access to a car, now's the time to do it.

The looming Hurricane Sandy will force Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials to shut down subway and rail service at 7 p.m. and then bus service at 9 p.m., NY1 reports.

Worst of all, MTA Chairman and CEO Joe Lhota says that mass transit will likely remain suspended until 12 hours after the storm, likely sometime Wednesday. Airports remain open but flights are canceled, NY1 says.
