We had no idea parking dings were called "prangs" in the UK. How awesome is that? Anyway, Bosch has created a driver-assist system that can not only judge how close an object is to a moving car, it also applies the car's brakes if the object gets too close. Park Assist Stop (PAS), uses ultrasonic technology to estimate the distance or a curb (trousers), parked truck (pip pop lorry knickers) shopping cart (arse trolly) or other object (cock a' hoop) from a car's front or rear, and prevent cack-footed drivers from accidentally hitting the gas. (With apologies to William Blake). [Thanks to Richard for the tip.]
