New Honda CB750 in the Works?

In certain circles, the original Honda CB750 was the Pontiac GTO of motorcycles: genre-creating, performance benchmark-setting, style-leading and, eventually, retrolust-causing. The early four-cylinder machine — first released in 1969 — was the antecedent to all Japanese superbikes, and we all know how that whole segment turned out. Now, word is Honda's working on a new version of the CB750 that mimics the old, and even developed a new air-cooled engine to keep styling true to form but make it compliant with emissions regs. MCN says we could see it at the Tokyo auto show. We can't wait to see what Steve Carpenter will do with his. [via Motorcycle News]
