Ford's new Mustang may not single-handedly plug the gash in the company's hull, but it couldn't ask for a better bilge pump. This past May, sales were up 47% year-to-year, making the new model one of the most succesful redesigns in the company's history (with the 1974 Mustang II at the opposite end). Mustangs are backordered in the area of 5,000, most of which are V8-powered GTs. See? No one even cares about the solid rear axle.
