
The single worst day in motorsports history happened exactly 60 years ago today. The tragedy at the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans gets brought up each year the race is held, but it’s even more notable this year on its 60th anniversary.
Below is the story we did last year on the horrific crash that I’m sure will be mentioned quite a bit in this weekend’s news coverage. As you’re watching the race, keep in mind the incident that claimed dozens of lives and nearly put a stop to auto racing entirely.
