In an event that seems like fun until you think about it even for a little bit, a 29-year old mother took a drive in an electric go-kart through Times Square traffic with her 5-year old daughter unsecured on her lap. When police attempted to arrest the mother, she went batshit and kicked the window out of a patrol car. Yikes.

New York’s DNAInfo reports suspect Barbara Davis was seen driving through traffic around 8:15 pm, weaving around cars and pedestrians in the unlit electric kart, unencumbered with helmets or any sort of protective gear. When police pulled her over, they found that she had a suspended license.

Do you need a license to drive a go-kart? I guess you probably can’t legally drive a go-kart on New York city streets, anyway, so I’m not sure if that even matters. When officers tried to arrest her, she, according to DNAInfo,

“flailed her arms, went limp and fell to the ground,”

... which is either part of the Humpty Dance or the sort of thing discriminating arrestees do to make their arrests that much more dramatic.

Once the officers got her in the car, she continued to go clamshit, eventually kicking out the rear window of the squad car. Incredibly, this incident marks the third time she’s damaged a police vehicle.

From the story:

She was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, one count of criminal mischief, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, one count of resisting arrest and two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, the DA’s office said.

Davis is currently being held on $15,000 bail and was expected to next appear in court on Tuesday, city Department of Correction records show.

Also incredible is that while she could be charged for operating a motor vehicle without a license, as of press time there is no license required for raising a child.

Oh, you poor kid.

Why couldn’t they have taken out the Olive Garden there while they were at it?

True story: I was walking through Times Square one day (don’t hate), a gaggle of tourists was blocking the sidewalk in front of me, deciding on what to eat, when one said, “How about some real Italian? There’s the Olive Garden!” I have never wanted to strangle a tourist more in my life.
