Emma Kimiläinen

• Nationality: Finnish
• Previous W Series Stats: Two wins; seven podiums; best championship finish of third

Emma Kimiläinen is one of the many promising racers whose career the W Series helped revive. After seeing success in Formula Ford, Radical Racing, and Formula Palmer, Kimiläinen took an indefinite hiatus from racing after struggling to find sponsorship. Her return to the W Series has proven that racing is exactly where she belongs.

Bianca Bustamante

Bianca Bustamante has been racing since she was five years old, and she’s won coveted prizes like the China Grand Prix Kart Scholarship alongside the Macau International Kart Grand Prix. After becoming one of the women selected for the FIA Girls on Track Rising Stars scholarship, Bustamante had testing time behind the wheel of a Formula 4 car. She’ll make her W Series debut in Miami.

Juju Noda

The daughter of Formula One driver Hideki Noda, Juju began karting when she was just three years old and first got behind the wheel of a single-seater at age nine. She’s proven herself as an exceptional racer in various regional Formula 4 championships, and she’s set to succeed in the W Series as well.

Jamie Chadwick

After securing the first two championships, Jamie Chadwick has become the unofficial face of the W Series, where she’ll return for a third season. Chadwick got started racing after her brother went karting for the first time, and her prolific career has grown from there, seeing her compete in just about every discipline of racing thrown her way.

Chloe Chambers

• Nationality: American

Chloe Chambers is the only American driver competing in the W Series this year, but she’s also one of the most accomplished. She’s a Guinness World Record holder, and she’ll be bolstering her 2022 W Series season with events in regional F3 and World Racing League races.

Emely de Heus

Emely de Heus found her footing in karting before she took on the 2021 Spanish F4 championship as her debut in open-wheel racing. She’ll be making her debut in the W Series this year, competing against several women she’s already raced with in the past.

Beitske Visser

For the past few years, Beitske Visser’s name has been synonymous with performance. She’s competed in everything from open-wheel cars to endurance racing machines at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. She’s an easy option for a championship hopeful in 2022.

Belén García

• Previous W Series Stats: Best finish of fourth; 10th in the 2021 Championship

Belén Garcia has been racing since childhood — a sport she actively contested in conjunction with her other love: Pole vaulting. She seriously began karting at 15 and made her open-wheel debut at 20, taking a win in the 2019 Spanish F4 series. This season will be her second in the W Series.

Nerea Martí

Nerea Martí made her W Series debut season a stunning one. She scored points in every single race to take home a fourth-place championship finish. That’s no surprise to anyone familiar with the driver’s career; she got her start at her father’s rental kart track and had success in her debut in lower regional formulae.

Marta García

Marta García is one of the W Series drivers who has been competing since the very first season, and she’s looking to move up from a best overall finish of fourth place to take a championship victory. García boasts several karting victories to her name, including the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy in 2015 and the Trofeo delle Industrie of 2015 — two of the most prestigious karting awards in the world. 

Fabienne Wohlwend

• Nationality: Liechtensteiner
• Previous W Series Stats: Three podiums; best race finish of second place; best championship finish of sixth

Fabienne Wohlwend started karting at age seven, and her family took to the road to help her travel to and from racing events while, as she aged, she also balanced a job as a banker. She’s the first woman to win outright for Ferrari, and she’s also performed admirably in the W Series.

Jessica Hawkins

Since her professional motorsport debut in 2014, Jessica Hawkins has kept the racing world on its toes. Aside from competing in the first two runnings of the W Series championship, Hawkins has made a name for herself as a stunt driver, with her most notable appearance being in the newest edition of the James Bond series, No Time to Die.

Alice Powell’s prolific racing career was put on hold until she joined with the W series thanks to a lack of sponsorship — and she immediately proved her prowess as a competitor. Powell has been one of Jamie Chadwick’s biggest competitors for the title, having taking both second- and third-place finishes in the championship during her previous two years of competition.

Sarah Moore

Sarah Moore made history in 2021 when she became the very first openly LGBTQ+ person to stand on the podium during a Formula One weekend — and that’s only one part of her impressive career. She won the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2009 and the 2018 Britcar Endurance Championship while also taking the BRDC Rising Star Status.

Abbi Pulling

• Previous W Series Stats: Best race finish of second; best championship finish of seventh

Abbi Pulling got her first taste of the W Series in 2021; though she didn’t compete a full season, her consistency was enough that she managed seventh in the championship. She also found success in British Formula 4, and a full-time season in the W Series will be the next big step in her career.

Bruna Tomaselli

Bruna Tomaselli’s rookie year in the W Series wasn’t her best, but with numerous podiums and wins in regional open-wheel series, Tomaselli’s luck is certain to change. After all, her determination to start racing at age seven saw her finish third against her more experienced competitors — she just needs a good car to shine.
