The first thing that comes to mind when watching this ad should be: Why didn't all Torino buyers get the 4-speed with Hurst shifter? With epilepsy-triggering flashing lights and nerve-wracking soundtrack, Ford buyers knew that time was running out to get their new '71 Torinos. The wide-angle road shots make the car look great, though we tend to prefer the late-60s fastback Torinos.
Do doubt. It just stikes me funny what we used to call "midsized" back then.
Hell I've owned/driven an 81' Continental, talk about a beast. I wish it ran on something cheaper than gas, I miss that car so much but it drank gas like a TKE drinks beers; didn't help that I replaced the 351W motor with the 400M conversion.
